Remote Civil Infrastructure Designer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Remote Civil Infrastructure Designer to join their innovative engineering practice. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from home while contributing to exciting civil engineering projects across the UK. You will be responsible for producing detailed design drawings and documentation for a range of infrastructure schemes, including roads, drainage, and utility systems. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented designer who thrives in a virtual environment and is keen to make a tangible impact on infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed civil infrastructure designs using CAD software, including site layouts, road alignments, and drainage systems.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and calculations for various infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate design efforts with other engineering disciplines and remote team members.
• Ensure designs comply with current UK building regulations, standards (e.g., DMRB, Sewers for Adoption), and client specifications.
• Assist in the preparation of planning applications and technical reports.
• Review and check designs produced by others, ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Maintain project documentation and drawing registers.

Requirements

• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Demonstrable experience as a Civil Designer or CAD Technician in infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is essential; knowledge of BIM software is advantageous.
• Understanding of highway design principles, drainage design, and earthworks calculations.
• Familiarity with UK planning and building regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote setting .
