About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and innovative beauty brand, is seeking a creative and technically adept Remote Cosmetic Product Developer to join their research and development team, operating from Belfast but fully remote. This role is integral to the creation of new and exciting cosmetic products, from initial concept through to market launch. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, regulatory affairs, and supply chain, to ensure products meet quality, safety, and efficacy standards, while aligning with market trends. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned developer to contribute significantly to product innovation within a flexible, home-based work structure.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, formulate, and develop new cosmetic and personal care products, ensuring they meet brand objectives and consumer needs.
• Conduct ingredient research , evaluate raw materials, and design stable, safe, and effective formulations.
• Oversee laboratory-scale product testing, stability studies, and efficacy assessments.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners to scale up formulations and troubleshoot production issues.
• Ensure all product development activities comply with relevant regulations (e.g., cosmetic directives, REACH).
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, including formulation breakdowns, manufacturing instructions, and safety data sheets.

Requirements

• Degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a related scientific field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cosmetic product development , with a strong portfolio of successfully launched products.
• In-depth knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulation techniques, and product testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with global cosmetic regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience working remotely and collaborating effectively with distributed teams using project management software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
