Remote Data Analyst - Mining Operations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join their remote operations team. This fully remote position based in the Sheffield area (though fully remote) will focus on extracting, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets related to mining operations. You will identify trends, generate insights, and develop reports that support decision-making in areas such as production efficiency, safety performance, and resource management. Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and organize data from various mining operations systems and sensors.
• Perform statistical analysis to identify key trends, patterns, and anomalies in operational data.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to operations, engineering, and management teams.
• Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to improve data collection and management processes.
• Develop predictive models to forecast operational outcomes and identify potential risks.
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security across all analyses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science , Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Data Analyst , preferably in an industrial or operational environment.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages such as Python (Pandas, NumPy), R, or SQL.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong understanding of statistical methods and their application.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, adept at working remotely.
