Remote Data Protection Lawyer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Remote Data Protection Lawyer to manage and enhance their data privacy compliance framework. This fully remote role involves advising on all aspects of data protection law, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant regulations, to safeguard client and company data. You will work collaboratively with IT, marketing, and product teams to embed privacy-by-design principles and manage data processing agreements. This is an excellent opportunity for a privacy law specialist who is adept at navigating complex legal landscapes remotely and is passionate about protecting data integrity and user privacy in the digital age.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive data protection policies and procedures.
• Advise on data privacy implications of new products, services, and business initiatives.
• Manage data subject access requests (DSARs) and respond to regulatory inquiries.
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).
• Provide training and guidance to staff on data protection best practices and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with a strong specialization in data protection and privacy law .
• In-depth knowledge of GDPR, UK Data Protection Act 2018, and international privacy regulations.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
• Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal audiences remotely.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
