About the Role
Our client is a leader in energy analytics and is seeking a highly skilled Remote Data Scientist to join their dynamic, distributed team. This role focuses on developing advanced analytical models to understand and predict complex energy market dynamics, optimize trading strategies, and identify new opportunities in the renewable and conventional energy sectors. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for forecasting energy prices, demand, and renewable generation.
- Analyze vast datasets from diverse sources, including market data, weather data, and operational data, to identify patterns and trends.
- Develop and implement algorithms for portfolio optimization, risk management, and anomaly detection in energy markets.
- Collaborate remotely with traders, analysts, and engineers to translate business needs into data science solutions.
- Communicate complex analytical findings and model results effectively through visualizations and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay at the forefront of data science techniques and tools, evaluating and implementing new methodologies to enhance analytical capabilities in the energy sector .
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist , with a significant focus on time-series analysis and predictive modeling.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R, including expertise in libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark) and SQL databases.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage projects effectively, and thrive in a remote work environment .
- Deep understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and their application to real-world problems, preferably within energy markets .
