Remote Data Scientist - Mining Analytics

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy machine learning models for predictive maintenance, operational optimization, and geological forecasting.
• Analyze large, complex datasets from various sources (e.g., sensors, geological surveys, production logs).
• Design and implement data mining strategies to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Collaborate with engineers and geologists to understand operational challenges and data requirements.
• Communicate findings and insights through compelling visualizations and reports to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to the development of data infrastructure and analytical tools for the Brighton -based team.

Requirements

• A Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist , with demonstrable experience in applying ML/AI to industrial or operational problems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong experience with SQL, NoSQL databases, and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting .
