About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Remote Delivery Driver to join their dynamic team, focusing on coordinating and optimizing delivery routes from a remote location. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless flow of goods and services, leveraging advanced logistics software and communication tools to manage a fleet of drivers. You will work independently, making critical decisions that impact efficiency and customer satisfaction, contributing directly to the operational success of the company. This position offers the unique opportunity to manage transport operations without being physically present at a depot, requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and optimize delivery routes for a fleet of drivers across various regions using routing software.
- Monitor driver progress, vehicle status, and delivery times in real-time, proactively addressing any delays or issues.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and resolve queries.
- Utilize dispatch and tracking systems to maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and driver performance.
- Implement and enforce company policies and safety regulations for all drivers operating under your remote supervision.
- Analyze delivery data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for route improvement and cost reduction.
Requirements
- Proven experience in logistics, dispatch, or a similar role within the transportation industry .
- Proficiency with route optimization and fleet management software.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and thrive in a remote work environment .
- Strong understanding of UK road networks and delivery regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further qualifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.
