Remote Drilling Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and decisive Remote Drilling Operations Manager to oversee and direct drilling campaigns from a remote location. This senior position requires a proven leader with extensive expertise in managing complex drilling operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness across multiple projects within the Oil & Gas sector. You will be responsible for coordinating rig activities, managing drilling teams, and ensuring compliance with all industry standards and regulations, all while working entirely from a remote setup. This is a critical role for someone who excels in leadership, strategic planning, and remote team management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for all drilling operations globally.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance safety, efficiency, and environmental performance.
• Manage and mentor drilling superintendents and other operational personnel, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Oversee the selection and management of drilling contractors and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards across all projects.
• Manage drilling budgets, track costs, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising safety or quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with at least 7 years in drilling operations management.
• Demonstrated experience in managing complex, large-scale drilling projects.
• In-depth knowledge of drilling technologies, well control, and risk management.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills suitable for remote management.
