About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced Remote Electrical Safety Engineer to join their compliance team, working exclusively from home. This critical role ensures that all electrical designs, products, and installations meet stringent safety regulations and standards across various markets. You will conduct thorough risk assessments, develop safety strategies, and provide expert guidance to engineering teams to maintain the highest levels of electrical safety. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive electrical safety risk assessments for new and existing products and systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant national and international electrical safety standards (e.g., IEC, UL, CE marking).
• Develop and implement electrical safety policies, procedures, and guidelines for engineering teams.
• Provide expert advice and training on electrical safety best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate electrical incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Review electrical design documentation to ensure safety integrity and compliance before product release.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; professional safety certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in electrical engineering with a significant focus on product safety and compliance .
• In-depth knowledge of major electrical safety standards and directives.
• Experience with functional safety (e.g., SIL) principles and methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade remotely.
