About the Role
Our client seeks a senior Remote Forestry Consultant to provide expert advice on sustainable forest management across the UK. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to work from home while collaborating with landowners, environmental agencies, and forestry stakeholders. You will assess forest health, develop management plans, advise on conservation strategies, and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks. The role requires a deep understanding of forestry science, ecology, and sustainable resource management, contributing to the preservation and enhancement of the UK's woodland heritage.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct remote assessments of forest ecosystems, including timber resources, biodiversity, and health status.
- Develop comprehensive sustainable forest management plans tailored to specific site requirements and client objectives.
- Advise clients on best practices for timber harvesting, reforestation, and conservation efforts.
- Ensure compliance with national forestry policies, environmental regulations, and certification standards.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and presentations for diverse audiences.
- Stay current with advancements in forestry science, technology, and ecological research.
Requirements
- Degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related discipline; a Master's or Ph.D. is advantageous.
- Significant professional experience in forest management, consultancy, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in using GIS software, remote sensing data, and other digital tools for forest analysis.
- Strong understanding of forest ecology, silviculture, and sustainable land management principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills, crucial for remote advisory work.
- Proven ability to manage projects independently and effectively communicate complex information.
