Remote Freight Operations Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive Remote Freight Operations Specialist to join their global logistics team, supporting operations that connect to Liverpool . In this remote-first position, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of freight movements, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods worldwide. You will work closely with carriers, clients, and internal teams to facilitate smooth operations, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high service standards. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage complex logistics processes from a distance, offering significant autonomy and the ability to work from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end execution of international and domestic freight shipments.
• Select appropriate carriers and negotiate rates for transportation services.
• Manage booking, documentation, and tracking of all freight movements.
• Resolve operational issues and customer service inquiries related to freight.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant international trade regulations and customs requirements.
• Collaborate with sales, customer service, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in freight forwarding, international logistics, or transport operations.
• Solid understanding of various shipping modes (air, sea, road, rail) and their complexities.
• Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
• Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication abilities, suited for remote team interaction.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
