Remote Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Remote Geotechnical Engineer to join their expanding team, operating entirely remotely. This position is central to evaluating the ground conditions and stability for a variety of mining and construction projects. You will utilize advanced software and data analysis techniques to provide critical insights and recommendations, working collaboratively with project managers and site engineers across the UK. The successful candidate will be adept at interpreting complex geological data and communicating findings effectively, regardless of physical location. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geotechnical analysis of soil and rock data from exploration and site investigations.
• Develop ground models and assess slope stability, foundation design, and excavation support requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, risk assessments, and design recommendations.
• Utilize specialized software for numerical modelling and analysis of geotechnical issues.
• Collaborate with remote project teams through video conferencing and digital communication platforms.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in geotechnical engineering and remote work technologies.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in geotechnical investigations and design.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or similar.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex geological and CPT/SPT data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for a remote role.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage project deadlines effectively.
