About the Role
Our client is pioneering a new approach to logistics and is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for a fully remote operation, managing logistics planning and oversight from home. While not physically driving, you will leverage your deep understanding of transportation networks, route planning, and regulatory compliance to manage and optimise delivery schedules nationwide. This unique role allows you to apply your expertise in a strategic capacity, ensuring efficient flow of goods while benefiting from the flexibility of a remote work environment. You will be integral to coordinating our fleet operations across the UK, focusing on efficiency and driver support.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilise advanced logistics software to plan and manage nationwide HGV Class 1 delivery routes.
- Monitor driver progress and communicate effectively to address potential delays or issues in real-time.
- Ensure compliance with all UK driving hours regulations (Working Time Directive) and transport laws remotely.
- Liaise with clients and depot managers to confirm delivery windows and requirements.
- Optimise routes for fuel efficiency and timely deliveries, contributing to cost savings.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence and Digi-Tacho card (essential for understanding operations).
- Proven experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, with a strong understanding of the logistics industry.
- Excellent knowledge of UK road networks and traffic management systems.
- Proficiency in using logistics software, route planning tools, and communication platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex logistical challenges from a remote setting.
