Remote In-House Counsel - Litigation

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced In-House Counsel with a focus on Litigation to join their team on a fully remote basis, serving their operations across the UK. This role is essential for managing and strategically resolving a variety of legal disputes, protecting the company's interests, and ensuring robust legal compliance. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external counsel, and regulatory bodies to achieve favourable outcomes. This position is ideal for a litigator seeking to leverage their expertise in a dynamic, remote-first corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of commercial litigation, from pre-action protocols through to trial and enforcement.
• Develop and implement effective litigation strategies to achieve optimal results for the company.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
• Liaise with and manage external litigation counsel, ensuring cost-effective and efficient handling of cases.
• Advise business units on potential legal risks and strategies to mitigate disputes.
• Negotiate settlements and resolutions to legal disputes.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with at least 8 years of post-qualification experience in litigation, preferably with experience in a corporate legal department or a leading law firm.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex commercial disputes and cross-border litigation.
• Thorough understanding of civil procedure rules and litigation best practices.
• Excellent analytical, advocacy, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage a significant caseload remotely, and collaborate effectively with remote teams.
