Remote Industrial Engineer - Process Improvement

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Industrial Engineer to join their fully remote team, supporting their operations near Glasgow . This role is focused on driving significant improvements in process efficiency, material flow, and overall productivity through the application of lean manufacturing principles and data-driven analysis. You will work autonomously, collaborating virtually with various departments to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and implement changes that enhance operational performance. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze production and operational data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
• Design, develop, and implement effective process improvement strategies using lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Create detailed process maps, value stream maps, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Collaborate virtually with plant managers, production supervisors, and engineering teams to implement recommended changes.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of implemented improvements.
• Research and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance remote operational oversight and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in industrial engineering or process improvement roles.
• Solid understanding of lean manufacturing concepts, such as 5S, Kanban, and Kaizen.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools, particularly Microsoft Excel, and experience with simulation software is a plus.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively through digital channels and manage projects remotely.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
