Remote Industrial Operations Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Industrial Operations Engineer to join their team on a fully remote basis, supporting operations in the Portsmouth area. This role is designed for an engineer passionate about optimising manufacturing processes, driving efficiency, and implementing cutting-edge solutions from a distance. You will be instrumental in analysing complex operational data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and collaborating virtually with on-site teams to ensure seamless implementation of best practices. Key Responsibilities

• Analyse industrial operations, identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for cost reduction and performance enhancement.
• Design and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, workflows, and facility layouts using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
• Utilise data analytics and simulation tools to model potential process changes and predict outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with on-site production, engineering, and management teams to facilitate the implementation of process improvements.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational efficiency, quality, and safety, reporting on progress and outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related engineering discipline.
• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in industrial engineering or operations management, with a focus on process optimisation.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and Kaizen events.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and process simulation software.
• Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams.
• Proven ability to manage projects and drive results in a distributed work environment.
