Remote Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Remote Information Security Engineer to join their globally distributed team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions that protect our client's infrastructure and data from cyber threats. You will work closely with development, operations, and product teams to embed security best practices into all stages of the software development lifecycle and system operations. This position offers the flexibility of working from anywhere, allowing you to contribute to critical security projects while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy security infrastructure and tools, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and SIEM systems.
• Develop and automate security controls and processes using scripting languages and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and oversee remediation efforts.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure security is a core component of all applications and systems.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive security documentation, including policies, procedures, and runbooks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in a dedicated information security engineering role.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation.
• Hands-on experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container security (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment .
