About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and analytical Remote Insurance Underwriter to join their fully remote team, based anywhere in the UK. In this crucial role, you will assess and manage risks associated with insurance applications, making informed decisions to accept, modify, or reject coverage. You will be instrumental in safeguarding the company's financial stability by ensuring that policies are priced appropriately and that the risks underwritten align with the company's strategic objectives. This position is ideal for an experienced professional who excels in a remote setting and possesses a keen eye for detail and risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze insurance applications, assessing risks and determining appropriate policy terms and pricing.
- Utilize underwriting guidelines, data analytics, and industry knowledge to make sound underwriting decisions.
- Communicate effectively with brokers, agents, and internal stakeholders to gather necessary information and explain underwriting rationale.
- Monitor the performance of underwritten portfolios, identifying trends and recommending adjustments to strategy.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal underwriting policies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, providing expert advice on risk management.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Insurance Underwriter , with a specialization in a relevant line of business.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment, pricing methodologies, and insurance contracts.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficiency with underwriting software and standard office productivity tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for remote collaboration.
- A degree in Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred, alongside relevant professional qualifications.
