About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Remote IT Support Specialist to join their expanding IT department, serving a national client base with a focus on Sunderland and surrounding areas. In this vital role, you will provide first-line technical support to employees, resolving hardware, software, and network issues to ensure minimal disruption to productivity. You will be the primary point of contact for technical assistance, offering timely and effective solutions through various remote channels. This position is ideal for a technically adept individual who excels at communication and problem-solving in a virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional technical support to end-users via phone, email, and remote desktop tools.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly and efficiently.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within the company's IT systems.
- Document all support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the IT ticketing system.
- Assist with IT asset management, including inventory tracking and deployment of new equipment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an IT Support or Help Desk role, preferably in a remote capacity.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common business applications.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and troubleshoot effectively in a remote setting .
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or ITIL Foundation are a plus.
