Remote Lead Automotive Software Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Lead Automotive Software Architect to join their fully remote engineering team, based remotely from Newcastle upon Tyne . Key Responsibilities

• Design and document the overall software architecture for automotive systems, adhering to industry standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, ISO 26262).
• Define software requirements, technical specifications, and system interfaces for complex automotive applications.
• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to architectural principles and coding standards.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to support the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, product managers, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of the entire system.
• Conduct architectural reviews and provide technical leadership throughout the product development process.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in automotive software architecture .
• Proven experience with embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, architectural styles, and system integration principles.
• Demonstrated experience in leading software development teams and driving technical strategy.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with a strong ability to articulate complex technical concepts.
