Remote Lean Manufacturing Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and expert Remote Lean Manufacturing Specialist to drive continuous improvement initiatives across their organization. This role offers the unique opportunity to work from anywhere in the UK and significantly impact manufacturing efficiency, waste reduction, and overall productivity without being tied to a specific physical location like Norwich . You will be instrumental in fostering a culture of Lean thinking, implementing methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping, and empowering teams to achieve operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in Lean implementation and exceptional remote collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of Lean manufacturing strategies and tools across various operational areas.
• Conduct value stream mapping and identify waste in all forms (e.g., overproduction, waiting, transport, inventory, motion, defects, over-processing).
• Facilitate Kaizen events and workshops to drive process improvements and problem-solving initiatives remotely.
• Develop and deliver training programs on Lean principles and methodologies to employees at all levels.
• Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and track the progress of Lean initiatives.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement and empower teams to sustain Lean practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in implementing Lean manufacturing principles and tools.
• Demonstrated success in leading Kaizen events and significant process improvements.
• Expertise in methodologies such as 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, and JIT.
• Proven ability to work effectively and influence stakeholders in a remote or distributed team environment.
• Exceptional facilitation, coaching, and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
