About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Remote Logistics Network Optimizer to enhance their transportation and distribution infrastructure, with a focus on optimizing operations for regions including Edinburgh . This role is entirely remote, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere. You will be responsible for analyzing the current logistics network, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing solutions to reduce costs, improve transit times, and increase overall efficiency. Your work will be critical in shaping the future of our client's global supply chain strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current logistics network design, including transportation routes, warehousing, and distribution points.
• Develop models and simulations to evaluate different network configurations and identify optimal solutions.
• Recommend strategies for network consolidation, expansion, or restructuring to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to implement approved network changes.
• Monitor network performance using key metrics and adjust strategies as needed.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in logistics and supply chain network design.

Requirements

• Significant experience in logistics network design , optimization, or supply chain strategy.
• Expertise in using network modeling software and advanced analytical techniques.
• Strong understanding of transportation modes, warehousing operations, and distribution strategies.
• Excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and drive change in a remote, cross-functional environment.
• Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or a related field is highly desirable.
