About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Remote Logistics Planner to manage and optimize transportation routes and schedules from a remote location. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods across their network, working closely with carriers, warehouse teams, and customer service. You will leverage technology and analytical skills to enhance supply chain performance and contribute to seamless operations, supporting a fully remote working culture that emphasizes autonomy, collaboration, and delivering results regardless of physical location.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule inbound and outbound transportation movements to meet delivery timelines.
- Optimize routes and load capacities to maximize efficiency and minimize transportation costs.
- Negotiate rates and terms with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
- Monitor shipments, identify potential delays, and proactively implement solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities and prepare performance reports.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners through digital communication channels.
Requirements
- Proven experience in logistics planning, transportation management, or freight forwarding.
- Strong understanding of transportation modes, regulations, and market dynamics.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS) and logistics software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities, suitable for remote interaction.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
