About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Remote Media Relations Manager to join their globally distributed team. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. You will be responsible for shaping and executing the company's media relations strategy, building strong relationships with journalists and influencers, and securing positive media coverage. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to manage a complex media landscape from a distance. You will be a key player in enhancing our client's brand reputation and driving public awareness through impactful media engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive national and international media relations strategy.
• Proactively identify and pitch compelling story ideas to relevant media outlets.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with key journalists, editors, and industry influencers.
• Write and edit high-quality press releases, statements, and media kits.
• Monitor media coverage, analyze trends, and report on campaign effectiveness.
• Serve as a primary media contact and spokesperson as needed.
• Develop and manage crisis communication plans for potential issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in media relations, preferably with agency or in-house experience at a senior level.
• Demonstrated success in securing high-profile media placements.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong storytelling and persuasive abilities.
• Proficiency with media monitoring and PR analytics tools.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and thrive in a remote work environment.
