Remote Network Administrator

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Remote Network Administrator to manage and maintain their IT infrastructure. Operating from a remote capacity, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of their computer networks, supporting a diverse user base primarily located around Stoke-on-Trent . This role requires a proactive approach to network management, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementing upgrades to support business operations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent technical skills and a commitment to providing seamless network services from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor network performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure maximum uptime.
• Implement and maintain network security measures, including intrusion detection systems and access control policies.
• Perform regular network backups and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.
• Provide technical support for network-related issues, troubleshooting connectivity problems and system errors.
• Stay current with emerging network technologies and recommend upgrades or improvements to enhance network capabilities.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role, with a strong track record in network management.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
• Hands-on experience with network hardware and software from leading vendors.
• Familiarity with network security principles and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues efficiently in a remote environment .
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are highly desirable.
