About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Network Infrastructure Specialist to join their dedicated IT operations team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to critical network infrastructure projects from anywhere within the UK. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of robust and scalable network solutions that support our client's global operations. This role demands a deep understanding of networking protocols, security best practices, and performance optimization techniques. The ideal candidate thrives in a remote-first environment, is proactive in identifying and resolving complex technical challenges, and is committed to maintaining high availability and security for our client's network infrastructure, based out of Belfast .
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain complex network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize speed and reliability.
- Develop and implement network security measures to protect against cyber threats and ensure data integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues efficiently, providing timely support to internal users and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network infrastructure with other systems and applications.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and standards to ensure knowledge sharing and maintain operational consistency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in network administration and infrastructure management, preferably in a senior or specialist capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, and network security principles.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade network hardware from leading vendors.
- Strong understanding of network monitoring tools and performance analysis techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex technical issues independently.
- Must possess excellent communication skills suitable for a remote working environment.
