Remote Network Security Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Remote Network Security Specialist to bolster their security operations team. Working entirely from home, you will be instrumental in protecting the company's network infrastructure from cyber threats. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures, monitoring for threats, and responding to security incidents. You will contribute to ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our client's critical data and systems within the dynamic telecoms industry. Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security.
• Monitor network traffic for security breaches and malicious activities, responding to alerts promptly.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate weaknesses.
• Develop and update security policies , procedures, and documentation.
• Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Stay current with emerging security threats and technologies, recommending enhancements to the security posture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in network security , incident response, and threat analysis.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, security architectures, and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM platforms, firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco), and vulnerability scanners.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Security+, or CCNA Security are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, perfect for a remote cybersecurity role .
