Remote Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Remote Process Safety Engineer to join their globally distributed team. This position is integral to ensuring the highest standards of safety across all their chemical operations, regardless of geographical location. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing process safety management (PSM) programs, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with international safety regulations. This role offers the unique advantage of working from home, contributing to critical safety initiatives with maximum flexibility, and influencing safety culture across the organization remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive process safety management (PSM) systems and procedures compliant with relevant international standards.
• Conduct thorough Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies, for new and existing processes.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective and preventative actions.
• Develop and deliver process safety training programs to engineering and operations personnel remotely.
• Maintain and update safety-related documentation, such as safety data sheets (SDS), risk assessments, and emergency response plans.
• Stay abreast of evolving chemical safety regulations and industry best practices, advising on their implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; professional safety certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in process safety engineering within the chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing industries.
• Demonstrated expertise in conducting various types of Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs).
• Strong knowledge of global process safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, Seveso Directive).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
• Proficiency with safety management software and remote collaboration tools.
