About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Process Safety Engineer to join their globally distributed team. This role is essential for ensuring the highest standards of safety across all operational facilities, focusing on the prevention of major accidents within the oil and gas industry. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing process safety management systems, conducting hazard identification and risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and standards.
- Conduct and facilitate Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOP), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and other risk assessment techniques.
- Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and internal safety policies.
- Develop and deliver process safety training to operational and engineering staff.
- Maintain and update process safety information, including P&IDs, safety procedures, and relief system designs.
- Participate in safety audits and ensure closure of identified non-conformities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering , preferably within the oil and gas sector.
- In-depth knowledge of PSM elements, hazard identification techniques, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Familiarity with relevant international safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, HSE).
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
