About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a skilled and motivated Remote Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team, supporting a portfolio of construction projects nationwide. In this fully remote role, you will be responsible for managing all costs relating to construction projects, from initial calculations to final account settlement. You will provide crucial cost advice, manage budgets, oversee contract administration, and ensure financial viability. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-driven professional to work from home, maintain strong client relationships, and contribute significantly to project success through expert financial management and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare bills of quantities, tenders, and contract documents.
- Undertake cost analysis and advise on the most cost-effective solutions for projects.
- Manage and monitor project budgets, forecasting costs and identifying potential financial risks.
- Administer construction contracts, including interim payments, variations, and final accounts.
- Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to achieve best value.
- Conduct site visits (if necessary, though primarily remote) to verify progress and assist with valuations.
Requirements
- Degree or HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the UK construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT).
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in cost estimating and financial management software.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and communicate professionally in a remote setting.
