Remote Senior Chemical Engineer - Process Safety

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Remote Senior Chemical Engineer specializing in Process Safety to join their global operations. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety are integrated into all stages of chemical process design and operation, regardless of geographical location. You will work closely with engineering teams worldwide, providing expert guidance and developing robust safety management systems. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while requiring deep technical expertise and a commitment to safety excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive process safety management (PSM) programs across multiple sites.
• Conduct and oversee Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and consequence modeling.
• Develop and review safety-critical procedures, operating guidelines, and emergency response plans.
• Provide expert consultation on inherent safety design principles and risk reduction strategies.
• Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure compliance with relevant international safety regulations and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering .
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in process safety engineering within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
• In-depth knowledge of PSM elements , hazard identification techniques, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Proven ability to conduct and lead complex PHAs.
• Excellent understanding of safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, SEVESO).
• Strong remote collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
