Remote Senior Chemical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and self-motivated Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their globally distributed team, operating on a fully remote basis. This role is critical for driving the design, development, and optimization of complex chemical processes, supporting multiple projects simultaneously. You will leverage your extensive expertise to provide technical leadership, ensuring efficiency, safety, and sustainability from conceptual design through to operational support. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptual design, development, and scale-up of chemical processes, ensuring robust and efficient solutions.
• Conduct detailed process simulations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP) for new and modified processes.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to project teams and junior engineers remotely.
• Develop and optimize process P&IDs, equipment specifications, and operating procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different geographical locations and functional groups.
• Ensure all designs comply with stringent safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements globally.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering, design, and project execution.
• Demonstrated expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, ChemCAD) and advanced modelling techniques.
• Strong background in process safety, including HAZOP, LOPA, and risk management.
• Proven ability to lead projects and work autonomously in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
