Remote Senior Civil Engineer - Infrastructure Planning

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a seasoned Senior Civil Engineer focused on infrastructure planning to join their forward-thinking team, operating entirely remotely. This role is central to developing strategic plans and feasibility studies for future infrastructure development, working closely with national clients and stakeholders from a remote setting. You will leverage your expertise to identify opportunities, assess viability, and shape the direction of significant civil engineering endeavors across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic planning and feasibility assessment of major infrastructure projects.
• Develop comprehensive master plans, development frameworks, and infrastructure strategies.
• Conduct site appraisals, risk assessments, and preliminary design concepts for proposed developments.
• Engage with clients, government bodies, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and present findings.
• Ensure all planning outputs align with national planning policy, environmental considerations, and best practice.
• Provide expert technical advice and contribute to business development initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a strong emphasis on planning and strategy.
• Significant experience (8+ years) in infrastructure planning, development, and feasibility studies.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and lead complex planning projects remotely.
• Excellent understanding of the UK planning system, development consent processes, and infrastructure delivery.
• Strong analytical, report writing, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with GIS and other planning support tools is advantageous.
