Remote Senior Geologist - Data Analysis

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Geologist to join their growing exploration team on a fully remote basis, ideally based in or near Edinburgh . This critical role focuses on the interpretation and analysis of large geological datasets to identify and evaluate potential mineral targets worldwide. You will work closely with global exploration teams, leveraging advanced software and data science techniques to guide strategic decision-making and optimize exploration efforts. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze diverse geological datasets, including geophysical surveys, geochemical data, and drill core logs.
• Develop and refine geological models and interpretations using advanced software platforms.
• Identify and prioritize promising exploration targets based on data analysis and geological principles.
• Collaborate closely with field exploration teams to provide data-driven guidance and support.
• Contribute to the development of data management strategies and best practices.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related geoscience field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mineral exploration, with a strong emphasis on data analysis and interpretation.
• Expertise in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, ioGAS) and GIS applications.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote capacity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
