About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Remote Senior Urban Designer to contribute to significant urban development projects. This role, fully remote, requires a strategic thinker passionate about shaping cities and communities through thoughtful design. You will collaborate with planning authorities, developers, and design teams to create masterplans, development frameworks, and urban design strategies that promote liveability, sustainability, and connectivity. Key Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality masterplans, urban design frameworks, and development strategies for complex urban regeneration projects.
• Conduct site analysis, research, and policy review to inform design development.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, architects, engineers, and landscape architects.
• Prepare compelling design presentations, reports, and visualizations for clients, stakeholders, and public consultations.
• Ensure designs respond to social, economic, and environmental contexts, promoting inclusivity and sustainability.
• Advise on urban design policy, best practices, and regulatory requirements within the UK context.

Requirements

• Degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Planning, or a related field, with a strong portfolio of urban design work.
• Significant experience in urban design, masterplanning, and place-making, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
• Excellent understanding of urban planning policy, development processes, and sustainability principles.
• Proficiency in relevant design software, including CAD, GIS, and graphic presentation tools.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities in a remote setting.
