About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and skilled Remote Sensing Specialist to join their innovative agricultural technology team, operating fully remotely. This role is central to leveraging satellite imagery, aerial photography, and drone data to provide valuable insights into crop health, soil conditions, and land use for agricultural clients. You will be responsible for processing, analyzing, and interpreting complex geospatial data, developing reports, and collaborating with agronomy and data science teams to deliver actionable intelligence. Key Responsibilities
- Process, analyze, and interpret satellite, aerial, and drone imagery using GIS and remote sensing software.
- Develop algorithms and methodologies for crop monitoring, yield prediction, soil analysis, and land cover classification.
- Create clear and concise reports, maps, and visualizations to communicate findings to clients and internal teams.
- Collaborate closely with agronomists, data scientists, and software engineers to integrate remote sensing data into broader agricultural solutions.
- Stay current with advancements in remote sensing technologies, geospatial analysis techniques, and agricultural applications.
- Manage data acquisition, quality control, and archival processes for remote sensing projects.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Remote Sensing, Geospatial Science, Geography, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in remote sensing data processing and analysis, with a focus on agriculture.
- Strong proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing software (e.g., ERDAS Imagine, ENVI).
- Experience with programming languages commonly used in geospatial analysis (e.g., Python, R) and image processing libraries.
- Solid understanding of agricultural principles, crop types, and environmental factors affecting land use.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
