About the Role
Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Remote Soil Scientist to contribute to their advanced soil health and land management initiatives. Operating from a fully remote capacity, you will analyze soil data, develop management recommendations, and advise clients on optimizing soil fertility, structure, and microbial activity for sustainable agricultural and environmental outcomes. Your expertise will be vital in helping clients improve crop yields, enhance land restoration efforts, and implement best practices for soil conservation. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze soil sample data, including chemical, physical, and biological properties, to assess soil health and fertility.
- Develop tailored recommendations for soil amendments, fertilization strategies, and cover cropping based on data analysis.
- Advise clients on best practices for soil conservation, erosion control, and land restoration projects.
- Utilize remote sensing data and GIS tools to map soil types and predict soil behavior across large agricultural landscapes.
- Stay updated on the latest research and techniques in soil science, nutrient management, and sustainable land use.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly through detailed reports and virtual consultations.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Soil Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in soil science, with a focus on agricultural or environmental applications.
- Strong understanding of soil chemistry, physics, biology, and pedology.
- Proficiency in soil data analysis software and GIS applications.
- Experience with laboratory soil analysis interpretation is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote client interaction and reporting.
