Remote Strategic Sourcing Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and analytical Remote Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join their procurement department, operating remotely from Cardiff . This role is integral to identifying, evaluating, and securing the best suppliers for the company's diverse needs, focusing on long-term value and cost-effectiveness. You will conduct in-depth market research, lead sourcing events, and manage supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality service delivery. Working entirely remotely, you'll leverage digital tools and communication platforms to collaborate seamlessly with internal stakeholders and external partners, driving efficiency and innovation in the procurement process.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify potential new suppliers through comprehensive market analysis and due diligence.
• Lead and manage Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve optimal terms.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for specific categories to reduce costs and mitigate risks.
• Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations and key performance indicators.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand requirements and ensure alignment on sourcing objectives.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or a related field.
• Proven ability to conduct market research and analyze supplier capabilities.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
• Proficiency in sourcing software and e-procurement tools.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
