Remote Structural Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client is searching for an experienced Remote Structural Civil Engineer to bolster their engineering capabilities across various UK projects. Based remotely, you will focus on the structural aspects of civil engineering works, ensuring the integrity and safety of designs for buildings, bridges, and other significant structures. This role provides an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to leverage their expertise within a fully remote framework, contributing to major infrastructure and construction projects while enjoying the flexibility of working from home, ideally within commuting distance of Leeds for occasional site visits if required.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake structural analysis and design for a variety of civil engineering and building structures.
• Produce detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Perform site inspections and condition surveys to assess structural integrity.
• Collaborate closely with clients, architects, and other consultants to develop integrated design solutions.
• Ensure all structural designs comply with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and Health & Safety legislation.
• Mentor and support junior members of the engineering team remotely.

Requirements

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) with MICE or MIStructE qualification.
• A minimum of 9 years' relevant experience in structural engineering design.
• Extensive knowledge of structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis).
• Expertise in designing with steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
• Strong understanding of foundation design and ground interaction issues.
• Excellent communication and remote collaboration skills, with a high degree of self-discipline.
