About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer specializing in infrastructure to join their fully remote team. This role is critical in shaping the future of development projects, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. You will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of vital infrastructure components, including transportation networks, utilities, and drainage systems, for projects nationwide. This position requires a self-motivated individual with exceptional technical expertise and communication skills, capable of thriving in a remote-first environment and contributing to high-impact projects without geographical constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, planning, and implementation of major infrastructure projects, focusing on transportation, water, and utilities.
- Develop comprehensive engineering solutions, including road design, drainage systems, earthworks, and site development plans.
- Ensure all designs adhere to relevant UK regulations, standards, and best practices for civil engineering.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and risk analyses, often in collaboration with virtual teams and clients.
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff remotely.
- Manage project documentation, progress reporting, and client communications through digital platforms.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a Master's degree is advantageous.
- At least 6 years of professional experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on infrastructure projects.
- Professional Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and managing various infrastructure elements such as highways, sewerage, and stormwater management.
- Proficiency with industry-standard civil engineering software, including CAD and modeling tools, preferably with remote access capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to manage projects and teams effectively in a virtual setting.
