About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly knowledgeable and proactive Remote Sustainable Agriculture Consultant to guide agricultural businesses towards more environmentally friendly and economically viable practices. Operating entirely remotely, you will engage with clients to assess their current operations, identify areas for improvement, and develop tailored strategies for sustainable farming. Your expertise will empower farmers to reduce their environmental footprint, enhance soil health, conserve water, and improve biodiversity while maintaining or increasing productivity and profitability. This role is crucial for advancing sustainable food systems from a distance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' agricultural practices, focusing on environmental impact, resource efficiency, and long-term viability.
• Develop customized sustainability plans that may include organic farming methods, water conservation techniques, integrated pest management, and renewable energy adoption.
• Advise clients on best practices for soil health management, nutrient cycling, and biodiversity enhancement.
• Provide guidance on compliance with environmental regulations and certifications related to sustainable agriculture.
• Facilitate remote training sessions and workshops for clients and their staff on sustainable farming techniques.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Sustainable Agriculture, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in agricultural consulting, farm management, or environmental sustainability within the agricultural sector.
• In-depth knowledge of sustainable farming principles, organic certification standards, and relevant environmental legislation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical and effective solutions.
• Excellent remote communication, presentation, and client management skills.
