Remote Sustainable Agriculture Consultant

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Remote Sustainable Agriculture Consultant to guide agricultural businesses towards environmentally sound and economically viable practices. Operating entirely remotely, you will work with a diverse range of clients, providing expert advice on soil health, water management, biodiversity, organic farming techniques, and carbon footprint reduction. This role requires a deep understanding of ecological principles and their application in modern agriculture, combined with excellent remote communication and project management skills. You will be at the forefront of promoting a more sustainable food system, contributing to impactful change from your home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess current farming practices and develop customized sustainability plans for clients.
• Advise on implementing organic farming methods, agroecology, and regenerative agriculture techniques.
• Develop strategies for water conservation, efficient nutrient management, and soil health improvement.
• Assist clients in reducing their environmental impact, including greenhouse gas emissions and waste reduction.
• Provide guidance on biodiversity enhancement and habitat creation on agricultural land.
• Stay updated on sustainability certifications, regulations, and emerging best practices in agriculture.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Sustainable Agriculture, Environmental Science, Agronomy, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in agricultural consulting, focusing on sustainability and environmental practices.
• In-depth knowledge of ecological farming systems, soil science, and natural resource management.
• Experience with environmental impact assessments and carbon footprint analysis in agriculture.
• Proven ability to manage multiple client projects remotely and deliver actionable recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation capabilities.
