About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Remote Systems Administrator to manage and maintain their IT infrastructure entirely from a remote location. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and scalability of all company systems, supporting a distributed workforce. You will be responsible for system monitoring, user support, network management, and implementing IT policies and procedures, playing a critical role in our client's operational success within the Installation & Maintenance support services. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with exceptional technical skills and a proven ability to manage systems independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and maintain server infrastructure, including operating systems, applications, and databases.
- Provide remote technical support to employees, resolving hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems and platforms.
- Implement and enforce IT security policies, protocols, and best practices to protect company data.
- Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal disruption to operations.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including network diagrams and standard operating procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar IT support role, with a strong emphasis on remote management.
- Proficiency in managing Windows and/or Linux server environments, virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs) and cybersecurity principles.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues remotely.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for remote collaboration and user support in the Installation & Maintenance context.
