About the Role

Our client, a highly respected studio within the Arts & Entertainment sector, is seeking a skilled Remote Technical Artist to enhance their production pipelines and workflows. This role is crucial for bridging the gap between art and technology, ensuring that artistic assets are optimized and integrated seamlessly into game engines and other interactive platforms. Working from anywhere, you will collaborate with both artists and engineers to solve technical challenges and improve the efficiency of asset creation and implementation. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and maintain art pipelines for game development and other interactive media.
• Create and implement complex shaders, materials, and visual effects within game engines.
• Assist artists in troubleshooting technical issues related to asset creation, import, and performance.
• Write scripts (e.g., Python, MEL) to automate tasks and improve workflow efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers to define technical requirements and implement new engine features.
• Ensure 3D assets meet performance budgets and quality standards across target platforms.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Technical Artist in the gaming or VFX industry .
• Strong proficiency in one or more industry-standard 3D software packages (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Blender).
• Expertise in optimizing 3D assets, textures, and shaders for real-time performance.
• Experience with modern game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity is essential.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, MEL, or C# for pipeline development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly in a remote setting .
