Remote Telecoms Network Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Remote Telecoms Network Engineer to join their expanding virtual team. This position focuses on the design, implementation, and ongoing support of our global telecommunications network, operating entirely remotely. You will leverage your expertise to ensure the high availability, performance, and security of our network infrastructure, collaborating with colleagues across different time zones. Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain scalable telecoms network infrastructure , including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to ensure optimal uptime and service delivery.
• Implement and manage network security measures to protect against cyber threats.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network projects, upgrades, and new deployments.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical network incidents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in telecoms network engineering .
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), MPLS, and network security concepts.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and network automation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote role.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively from your chosen location, even if based near Reading .
