About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated Remote Telecoms Network Operations Manager to lead their network operations centre (NOC) team. This role, based remotely but serving operations supporting Portsmouth , is responsible for ensuring the continuous availability, performance, and security of the company's telecommunications network. You will manage a team of network engineers and technicians, oversee incident response, and drive improvements in operational processes and tools. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of network operations, and a proven ability to manage effectively in a remote , distributed team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of network operations engineers and technicians, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Oversee day-to-day network operations, including monitoring, incident management, and problem resolution.
- Develop and implement network operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Manage the performance and capacity of the telecommunications network, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance network stability, efficiency, and security.
- Collaborate with other departments, including engineering, product, and customer support, to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee the procurement of network operational tools and services.
Requirements
- Significant experience in telecoms network operations and management.
- Proven track record of managing and leading technical teams, preferably in a remote setting.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Experience with network monitoring, fault management, and performance analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of ITIL principles and service management best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
