Senior Telecoms Network Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-oriented Senior Telecoms Network Operations Manager to lead their network operations centre (NOC) based in Southampton . This critical role involves ensuring the continuous availability, performance, and security of the company's telecommunications infrastructure. You will manage a team of skilled engineers, implement operational best practices, and drive service improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network operations management, excellent leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the telecom industry. This is a non-remote position, requiring full-time presence at our Southampton facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of network operations engineers, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Oversee the daily operations of the network, ensuring maximum uptime and service availability.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and performance metrics (KPIs) for the NOC.
• Manage incident response, troubleshooting, and resolution processes for network outages and performance degradation.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and customer support, to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance network reliability, efficiency, and security.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in telecoms network operations , with a significant portion in a management or leadership capacity.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate technical teams in a high-pressure environment.
• In-depth knowledge of network monitoring tools, fault management systems, and performance analysis.
• Strong understanding of various network technologies and protocols used in modern telecommunications.
• Excellent strategic planning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent industry experience.
