Our client is seeking a skilled Remote Transport Planner to design and optimize transportation routes and schedules for their UK-wide logistics operations. Working entirely from a remote location, you will leverage advanced planning software and data analysis to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely movement of goods. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of logistics, network optimization, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with drivers, depots, and clients virtually. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly transport plans and schedules.
- Utilize transport planning software to create efficient delivery routes, considering factors like delivery windows, vehicle capacity, and driver hours.
- Analyze transport data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve service levels.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and customer service teams via digital platforms to manage execution and resolve issues.
- Monitor delivery performance against KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with the wider logistics team to align transport plans with overall business objectives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, or a related field.
- Proficiency in using transport planning software (e.g., Paragon, Maxoptra, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for remote collaboration.
