Remote Transport Planner - Supply Chain Optimization

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and analytical Remote Transport Planner to join their expanding supply chain team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for optimizing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the company's transport operations across the UK, working entirely from a remote location. Your expertise in route planning, load consolidation, and carrier management will be key to ensuring timely deliveries and minimizing logistical expenses. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external transport providers to implement best-in-class transportation strategies, contributing directly to the company's competitive advantage and operational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement optimized transport plans and schedules for all inbound and outbound shipments.
• Analyze transport data to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• Select and manage relationships with transport providers, negotiating rates and service levels.
• Monitor transport performance against KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with warehouse and customer service teams to ensure seamless end-to-end supply chain operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in transport planning, logistics, or supply chain management.
• Strong proficiency in transport management systems (TMS) and route optimization software.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
• Solid understanding of UK transport legislation and carrier operations.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with experience managing remote teams and stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
