Renewable Energy Project Developer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an ambitious Renewable Energy Project Developer to join their growing team, operating with a hybrid model from Brighton . This role is central to identifying, assessing, and securing new renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and battery storage. You will be responsible for managing the early-stage development lifecycle, from site acquisition and feasibility studies to securing planning permissions and grid connections. This is an opportunity to drive forward the clean energy transition by bringing innovative projects to fruition. You will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve ambitious development goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential sites for renewable energy projects, conducting feasibility studies and site assessments.
• Secure land rights, easements, and necessary permits for project development.
• Engage with local authorities, grid operators, and other stakeholders to facilitate project progression.
• Develop and manage project business cases, including financial projections and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with engineering, legal, and finance teams throughout the development process.
• Negotiate and secure agreements with key partners, suppliers, and off-takers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Planning, or Business.
• 3-5 years of experience in project development within the renewable energy sector.
• Proven track record in securing planning consents and managing stakeholder relations.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, grid connection processes, and UK planning policy.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a team environment.
